Speaking on Wednesday during a lecture at the School of Computing, McPherson University, Alapako, Ogun State, Adewale delivered a presentation titled “Innovating the Digital Future: Trends in Computing Technology.” He described 6G as a transformative technology poised to outperform 5G by up to 100 times in speed and capability.
“These advanced networks are projected to debut by the close of this decade and will revolutionise communication with unprecedented speeds,” Adewale said. “6G will be instrumental in advancing the metaverse, enabling real-time, personalised 3D experiences. It will also drive innovation in sectors like education, transportation, e-commerce, and healthcare.”
He further explained that the next generation of wireless communication will redefine how people connect, interact, and engage with digital systems. Adewale encouraged students to embrace adaptability and teamwork to thrive in the evolving tech-driven world.
“Ethics, adaptability, collaboration, and foresight are essential values for shaping a prosperous digital future. These principles will help us navigate the rapidly changing technological landscape and improve lives,” he added.
In his remarks, the Acting Dean of the Computing Department, Dr. Emmanuel Ibam, said the event was part of the university’s strategy to bridge academic knowledge with industry practice.
“Our goal is to equip students with real-world skills by connecting them with experienced professionals,” Ibam said. He noted that the university’s efforts had yielded tangible outcomes — including a $5,000 grant won by a student in 2024 and a new international research opportunity secured by a faculty member.
The lecture concluded with a student-led technology exhibition, where top participants received cash prizes for their innovations.
