A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dele Momodu, has declared that while he remains a member of the party in body, his “soul” has already departed due to the party’s deepening internal crisis.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Speaking during an interview on the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS) on Tuesday, Momodu lamented the disunity within the PDP, describing it as a major obstacle to effectively challenging the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

“My soul has left the PDP; only my body is still there,” he said.
“If the PDP were united, it could defeat the APC in 2027. But there are too many forces, both internal and external, working against the party.”

His remarks come in the wake of a wave of defections from the PDP to the APC. Momodu further alleged that the ruling party’s strategy is to systematically weaken the opposition.

Meanwhile, former PDP governorship aspirant in Ogun State, Segun Sowunmi, has expressed readiness to work with President Bola Tinubu, saying he would formally resign from the PDP if given a role in the current administration.

Speaking on Politics Today on Channels Television, Sowunmi—known for his close ties to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar—acknowledged his past criticism of the APC but maintained that he would not hesitate to join Tinubu’s government if the opportunity arose.

“There’s never been any doubt that I can work with President Tinubu,” he stated.
“But if I do, I will officially leave the PDP because I don’t believe in divided loyalty.”

Recalling a prior conversation with the president, Sowunmi said Tinubu had once asked him directly about accepting an appointment.

“The only time I’ve held a government appointment was under Otunba Gbenga Daniel. I’ve always preferred directness and dislike meetings full of sycophancy—I go straight to the point,” he added.

The Osun State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has responded to claims by Governor Ademola Adeleke that local government officials under the party diverted about ₦300 billion meant for workers’ salaries.

Adeleke had made the allegation during a stakeholders’ meeting, accusing APC-controlled council officials of hijacking funds and forcing the state government to shoulder salary payments for local government workers, teachers, health staff, and pensioners for over a year.

He insisted he would not abandon workers, blaming the situation for delays in executing some state projects.

But in a statement, APC’s Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, dismissed the claims, accusing the governor of misleading the public and shifting blame.

The party alleged that Adeleke was responsible for the salary issues, claiming he refused to release electronic payment vouchers and other financial documents needed for processing payments.

APC also said pension-related records, leave bonuses, cooperative deductions, and other financial data had not been made available despite repeated appeals, insisting that funds were properly accounted for and available for use if approved.
