“Shockwaves in APC: Okorocha Hints at Exit, Says Party Has Lost Its Way!”

Former Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has firmly denied speculations suggesting he plans to leave the All Progressives Congress (APC).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Reacting to a recent publication that claimed he labeled the APC as a party “desperate to hijack power,” Okorocha dismissed the report as false and malicious. In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Sam Onwuemeodo, Okorocha described the allegation as a fabrication orchestrated by individuals intimidated by his political influence.

He questioned the logic behind such claims, asking how he could criticize a party he helped establish—one that has held power at the federal level since 2015.

“Nearly eight years after I left office as the Executive Governor of Imo State, and years after serving as a Senator for Imo West, some people still lose sleep over Rochas Okorocha,” the statement read.

Usman Bugaje Calls Money the Driving Force Behind PDP Defections to APC

“For days, they’ve been spreading fake news on social media, falsely quoting me as saying: ‘APC is no longer a political party but a party desperate to hijack power at all costs. I am at the corner looking at them — Senator Rochas Okorocha.’

“That’s simply untrue. How can Okorocha describe a ruling party, in power since 2015, as desperate to hijack power? What power again?” he asked.

Okorocha further reminded Nigerians of his bold decision to join the APC as the only sitting governor from the South-East during its formative years—risking his political future and re-election in 2015 when the party had little regional support.

“While many South-East leaders doubted APC’s potential, Okorocha took a leap of faith and faced ridicule for his choice, yet he stood firm,” the statement added.

His commitment, the release recalled, earned him the unanimous endorsement of fellow APC governors as the founding Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, a body he played a key role in strengthening.

Barely a year after its inauguration in Akwa Ibom State, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has been plunged into a deep factional crisis.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Multiple factions are now locked in a struggle for control of the party, leaving members uncertain about the legitimate leadership structure.

One faction is led by John Akpanudodehe, a former National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), while another is headed by the embattled state chairman, Dick Duke.

Although the leader of a third faction could not be immediately confirmed, findings indicate that another group also exists within the party.

Sources further suggest that the Akpanudodehe-led faction is seeking to remove the current chairman through a recently held congress that has sparked controversy.

In response, Dick Duke convened a stakeholders’ meeting over the weekend, where he rejected the legitimacy of the said congress.

He said the party had formally written to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to distance itself from the exercise, citing a subsisting court order.

According to him, his tenure as state chairman is still valid until May, and any congress conducted before then would be unlawful.

Duke added that the party would only proceed with proper congresses after the expiration of his tenure and the resolution of legal issues, in line with due process.
