I Didn’t Sacrifice My Wife! – Gov Umo Eno Breaks Silence After Daughter’s Emotional Outburst”

Published

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has firmly denied allegations linking him to the death of his late wife, Patience Eno.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Recall that Patience Eno passed away on September 26, 2024, following an undisclosed illness. She died in the hospital surrounded by her family.

However, a video has recently resurfaced online in which the Governor’s daughter, Jane Eddidiong Ufot, who serves as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Health, Safety, and Environment, appeared to accuse her father of making her mother a “sacrifice.”

In the emotional video, Jane said:

“My name is Jane Eddidiong Ufot, SSA to the Governor on Health, Safety and Environment. Daddy, I’m sending this post to you alone. Please, let’s talk before this destroys everything. I am not a sacrifice. Mummy was — I’m not. I give you a few minutes. If you don’t act, I’ll post this everywhere.”

In another clip, she was seen speaking to her daughter, asking her to say:

“Tell Grandpa, ‘Do you want them to kill us? Do you want us to die like my baby brother died?’
If I die today, or if my daughter Agimini dies because God is exposing the truth, so be it. But my blood will not be in vain. Please, I want to live.”

Speaking in Uyo during the birthday celebration of former Deputy Governor Obong Nsima Ekere, Governor Eno addressed the controversy, stating that the video was recorded shortly after his wife’s passing and is being used now by political opponents to smear him.

He pointed out that Jane, along with her husband, was present at the event, emphasizing that his family remains united.

“This is politics season, and things like this are expected,” Eno said. “My family is intact — everyone is here. That video was recorded in the emotional aftermath of my wife’s death last year. Why is it resurfacing now, just as we’re marking our second anniversary and celebrating our accomplishments? It’s clearly a distraction from political detractors.”

Governor Eno urged the public to stop reviving painful memories of his wife’s passing.

“Losing a loved one is deeply traumatic. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. If those sharing this video believe they’re gaining something, I wish them luck. But politics should never involve targeting families. I remain focused and dedicated to serving the people of Akwa Ibom. My family is strong. We are moving forward.”

Factional Crisis Rocks ADC In Akwa Ibom As Party Splits Deepen.

Published

Barely a year after its inauguration in Akwa Ibom State, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has been plunged into a deep factional crisis.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Multiple factions are now locked in a struggle for control of the party, leaving members uncertain about the legitimate leadership structure.

One faction is led by John Akpanudodehe, a former National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), while another is headed by the embattled state chairman, Dick Duke.

Although the leader of a third faction could not be immediately confirmed, findings indicate that another group also exists within the party.

Sources further suggest that the Akpanudodehe-led faction is seeking to remove the current chairman through a recently held congress that has sparked controversy.

In response, Dick Duke convened a stakeholders’ meeting over the weekend, where he rejected the legitimacy of the said congress.

He said the party had formally written to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to distance itself from the exercise, citing a subsisting court order.

According to him, his tenure as state chairman is still valid until May, and any congress conducted before then would be unlawful.

Duke added that the party would only proceed with proper congresses after the expiration of his tenure and the resolution of legal issues, in line with due process.
