Bode George Breaks Silence, Claims Nigeria Has No Functioning Government

Published

Bode George, a senior figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has sharply criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration, declaring that there is effectively no government in place.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

According to a report, the PDP Board of Trustees member expressed these views in an interview with The Sun Newspaper.

The former military governor of Ondo State pointed to the prevailing economic conditions, highlighting widespread pain and frustration across the nation.

He stated, “There is no government. I am not afraid to say it—there is no government. Just look at the economic indicators, the pain and anger. Historically, southerners were the early adopters of Western education while northerners lagged behind. Today, northern youths are university graduates, present in every profession. Education makes people easier to govern but harder to deceive. The insecurity in the North stems from these young minds questioning their future. They were encouraged to get educated, which they did, but then they return to the same impoverished rural homes they left behind. There is no hope, no employment, and no money. They see a handful of wealthy individuals around them and wonder where all the resources are going. This is why unrest is rising. Contrary to popular belief, it’s not outsiders causing the violence—these are northern Gen Z youths challenging their own leaders. I’ve listened to three insightful northern governors who offered honest analyses. Instead of self-deception, we must face the truth: the Almajiri system is largely gone because most are now educated.”

Reacting, Wike said investigations have already been launched into the matter and directed his Chief of Staff to identify any staff member involved in the alleged interference.

He stated: “We will not allow people to just wake up and say the FCT Minister did this or that. I have told my Chief of Staff to find out from the company which staff member interfered. We will get to the bottom of this.”

Meanwhile, Wike also commented on former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s political ambitions, saying he would have to wait until 2031 to contest for the presidency.

He said there is “no space” for Atiku in 2027, adding that he could try again in 2031 when he would be 82 years old.
