Speaking during a courtesy visit to Tor Sankera, His Royal Highness Chief David Sevav, in Makurdi, Udende—who also chairs the Senate Committee on Anti-Corruption and Financial Crimes—emphasized that political divisions were worsening the region’s security challenges.
“Political differences will only aggravate the crisis. We need unity and collective action to end the bloodshed and restore peace in Sankera,” the senator stated.
In his remarks, Chief Sevav expressed gratitude for the visit and reaffirmed his commitment to all communities under his traditional jurisdiction, regardless of affiliations.
“I was made Tor Sankera by God for everyone, not just a few,” he said.
The senator was accompanied by a delegation of prominent Sankera stakeholders, including Donald Gbugho (former Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources), John Heen Kyado (former Ukum State Constituency Assembly member), Terver Kacki, Evangelist Brahms Ikuan, and Elder John Ashe.
The visit comes amid rising concern over persistent attacks in the area, with many calling for unified strategies to address the crisis.
