Jigawa Tragedy: 20-Year-Old Arrested for Allegedly Killing Father with Machete
Authorities in Jigawa State have launched a detailed investigation into a tragic domestic incident in which a 20-year-old man, Muhammad Salisu, allegedly killed his father, Salisu Abubakar, using a machete.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The shocking event occurred around 10 a.m. in the Bakin Kasuwa Quarters of Sara District, Gwaram Local Government Area. According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Shi’isu Adam, the young man attacked his father, inflicting severe wounds to the neck, chest, and shoulder.
Emergency responders rushed the injured victim to the Federal Medical Centre in Birnin Kudu, but he was pronounced dead on arrival by medical personnel.
Following the incident, police officers from the Sara Division swiftly arrived at the scene. The body of the deceased was later handed over to the family for burial rites.
The suspect, Muhammad Salisu, was apprehended at the scene and the alleged murder weapon—a machete—was recovered by the authorities.
Jigawa State Commissioner of Police, AT Abdullahi, has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Dutse for further, discreet investigation. He assured the public that justice would be pursued thoroughly in the matter.
While the motive for the killing remains unclear, the police spokesperson noted that investigations are ongoing to uncover the circumstances that led to the attack. Authorities are also urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.
The suspect remains in police custody as the force intensifies efforts to ensure transparency and accountability in the case.
