Addressing the matter, the Commissioner for Aviation and Transport Technology, Mrs. Ngozi Obichukwu, urged regulatory agencies and the public to disregard the allegations, describing them as unfounded and aimed at tarnishing the airport’s image.
Speaking shortly after Governor Francis Nwifuru’s departure from the airport, Obichukwu led a group of stakeholders on an inspection tour of the facility to affirm its operational state.
She emphasized that critics spreading misinformation had never visited the airport, labeling them as deliberate purveyors of falsehood. According to her, “The Chuba Okadigbo International Airport is not only operational but among the best in the country. Flights have been landing and departing without issues. This morning alone, we received two flights, and another is expected by 5 p.m.”
Obichukwu stressed that the airport adheres strictly to aviation regulatory standards and dismissed attempts to liken it to informal transport terminals.
She added that Governor Nwifuru remains undeterred by negative commentary and remains committed to the continued development of the state.
