The Central Criminal Court of England and Wales, also known as the Old Bailey, has scheduled June 3, 2025, for the trial of Marcus Monzo, a Spanish-Brazilian man accused of killing 14-year-old Nigerian teenager, Daniel Anjorin, in the United Kingdom. Monzo, who self-identifies as a “mystic musician,” faces charges related to the fatal knife attack that took place in Hainault, North-East London, on April 30, 2024.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Monzo, 37, allegedly murdered Anjorin after slashing him in the chest and neck with two Japanese swords while the teenager was on his way to school. During the court proceedings, Monzo also faced accusations of attacking four other people in a violent 20-minute stabbing spree. He has denied the charges of murder but pleaded not guilty to the attempted murders of four others, including Donato Iwule, Sindy Arias, Henry Polania, and Yasmin Mechem-Whitfield. Monzo also denied causing injury to a police inspector, Moloy Campbell, with intent.

Appearing in court on Friday, Monzo admitted to possessing offensive weapons—specifically a katana sword and a tanto katana sword—but denied the other charges, including aggravated burglary and possession of a kitchen knife. Earlier, Westminster Magistrates Court heard how Monzo allegedly crashed his van into a fence on Laing Close, injuring pedestrian Iwule, before attacking people with a sword. Anjorin was rushed to the hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.

The trial is set to begin on June 3, with Monzo facing multiple charges related to the tragic incident.

The Strategic Push for an Opposition Coalition

Despite possessing what he considers the superior candidate, Baba-Ahmed explained why the party is actively championing a broader political alliance:

  • Consensus Over Ego: The PRP chairman emphasized that the party’s push for a mega-coalition is driven by consensus and constitutional processes rather than forcing Duke’s candidacy through on profile strength alone.

  • Defeating Fault Lines: Framing the 2027 election as a critical turning point for the nation, Baba-Ahmed noted that the stakes go far beyond individual party ambitions. The coalition aims to unite likeminded opposition forces to rescue Nigeria from its current trajectory and bridge its deep fault lines.
