Petrol Landing Cost Soars to ₦870 as Marketers Struggle With Tight Margins
The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) has announced that a new and enhanced welfare package for its employees is in the final stages of approval and implementation. Mr. Tayo expressed appreciation for the dedication and professionalism shown by the staff, attributing much of the agency’s progress to their consistent service. He noted that the agency inherited an outdated and ineffective condition of service upon assuming office but has since implemented significant reforms.
He confirmed that all owed staff payments under the previous service conditions have been cleared and that discussions with industry unions are nearing completion on a revised compensation structure, including the implementation of the new national minimum wage.
The upcoming welfare adjustments, Tayo emphasized, align with the priorities set by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, who has placed workers’ wellbeing high on the agenda. Among the new initiatives are additional allowances—such as outfit stipends—and expanded training opportunities, both domestic and international, which resumed this year after a long hiatus.
Tayo assured staff that the agency remains committed to collaboration with unions and is determined to sustain a supportive environment for its workforce.
