Peter Obi Won’t Back Atiku in Any Coalition – Lere Olayinka Fires Warning Shot

Published

on

Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication and New Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has asserted that any potential political alliance between former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is unworkable and doomed from inception.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Speaking during an appearance on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Thursday, Olayinka dismissed recent coalition efforts spearheaded by Atiku to unite the opposition ahead of the 2027 general elections. He firmly stated that Obi would not agree to collaborate with Atiku due to unresolved political differences and conflicting ambitions.

Referencing their 2019 joint presidential bid under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which ended in electoral defeat, Olayinka emphasized that Obi’s departure from the PDP marked a clear break, making future collaboration highly unlikely.

He criticized the ongoing coalition talks as a self-serving venture, suggesting the alliance is structured solely to fulfill Atiku’s personal presidential aspirations. “How can a coalition succeed when it is built entirely around one man’s ambition?” Olayinka queried.

He further argued that neither Atiku nor Obi would concede the presidential ticket to the other, making the prospect of a united opposition front both impractical and unfeasible. “This coalition is already a failure—it cannot and will not work,” he concluded.
