This assurance was given shortly after the 2025 Workers’ Day celebration held in Minna, the state capital. The governor described his administration’s leadership model as collaborative and focused on common goals. He emphasized the importance of unity in governance, expressing confidence that their shared vision for a transformative future in Niger State is within reach.

Bago called on the people of Niger State to continue supporting his administration’s developmental agenda. He reiterated his commitment to workers’ welfare, highlighting recent initiatives aimed at improving the lives of civil servants.

Speaking on behalf of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Idris Abdulkareem Lafene, through the Trade Union Congress (TUC) State Chairman, Ibrahim Gana, praised the governor for policies benefiting workers. These include the implementation of a new ₦80,000 minimum wage, wage awards for both state and local government employees, resumed gratuity payments, food palliative distribution, and the settlement of the long-overdue 2019 annual leave grant.

The union described workers as the backbone of the state and applauded the governor’s responsiveness to their needs, stressing that such gestures foster trust and progress in governance.
