The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a public disclaimer, distancing itself from fraudulent messages demanding ₦15,700 from candidates who missed the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In a statement released on Thursday, JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin debunked claims linking the Board to a rescheduling fee, clarifying that the account provided—linked to Sterling Bank with the name “Copyrightwriter Personal J Rescheduling Flw”—is being operated by scammers.

“These deceitful individuals are extorting candidates under false pretenses. We categorically state that JAMB does not require any such payment,” Benjamin emphasized, urging the public to disregard the false messages.

He further called on Sterling Bank to investigate and shut down the fraudulent account and confirmed that law enforcement agencies have been notified to track and apprehend those behind the scam.

JAMB clarified its official stance on rescheduling missed UTME exams: only candidates whose absence was caused by technical or administrative failures on the Board’s part—such as biometric verification issues—will be rescheduled at no extra cost.

“Candidates who were unable to write the exam due to biometric failures are under review, and if cleared, will be invited to retake the exam without any payment,” Benjamin said.

He stressed that JAMB never imposes additional charges on candidates after the registration process has been completed.

The Board concluded by urging candidates and the general public to remain alert, report suspicious activity, and rely solely on official JAMB communication channels for updates.

The Strategic Push for an Opposition Coalition

Despite possessing what he considers the superior candidate, Baba-Ahmed explained why the party is actively championing a broader political alliance:

  • Consensus Over Ego: The PRP chairman emphasized that the party’s push for a mega-coalition is driven by consensus and constitutional processes rather than forcing Duke’s candidacy through on profile strength alone.

The coalition aims to unite likeminded opposition forces to rescue Nigeria from its current trajectory and bridge its deep fault lines.
