Fani-Kayode: Bishop Kukah Has the Qualities of a Great Pope

Taking to his verified X account, Fani-Kayode lauded the Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, describing him as a fearless, intellectually formidable, and spiritually grounded leader whose global presence would inspire many.
Fani-Kayode wrote:
“I truly wish Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah had been made a Cardinal. He would have been a powerful contender for the papal seat and a truly remarkable Pope. If I were Catholic, he would undoubtedly earn my vote.”
He characterized Kukah as a devout servant of God, an unwavering advocate for peace, truth, and justice, and a voice for the downtrodden.
“His courage is unmatched, and he possesses the intellectual and spiritual strength to confront any challenge on the global stage,” Fani-Kayode noted, adding that Kukah’s leadership would make Nigeria, particularly Zangon Kataf in Kaduna State, immensely proud.
He went on to pray for divine wisdom for the College of Cardinals as they prepare to elect a new Pope following the passing of Pope Francis, who recently died at the age of 88 and was laid to rest over the weekend.
Fani-Kayode concluded with hope that the new Pope will guide the world toward peace and security during these turbulent times.
