Omo-Agege Breaks Silence on Oborevwori’s Defection, Directs APC to Welcome New Members
Former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has officially commented on the defection of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Omo-Agege assured that the national leadership of the APC is closely managing the political realignment in Delta State to protect the party’s interests. He emphasized the importance of unity within the Delta APC and urged all party organs to mobilize effectively for the upcoming reception rally in Asaba.
“Let us embrace this development with unity, understanding, and a shared commitment to the progress of Delta State and Nigeria,” Omo-Agege stated.
While Omo-Agege had previously been vocal about rejecting Oborevwori’s overtures, he called for unity in the face of this significant political shift. He directed the Delta APC leadership to ensure a warm reception for the new members, scheduled for today (Monday) in Asaba.
Additionally, Omo-Agege reminded local government and ward executives of their responsibility to mobilize supporters for the rally and to manage any emerging challenges with caution and foresight. He reiterated that the issues arising from the defection are being carefully addressed to ensure the APC’s success in Delta.
