This development was announced in a joint statement released in Abuja by the National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, and the Director of Strategic Communications and Media, Nana Kazaure.

According to the statement, the new ID cards feature a QR code located at the bottom right-hand corner for authentication purposes. Each card also displays the national flag of the country where the holder resides, reflecting the movement’s diversity.

The statement reads in part: “The Obidient registration platform is designed to accommodate Nigerians and Obidients living abroad. As noted, the ID includes a flag—if you are outside Nigeria, your country’s flag will be featured in the top right-hand corner.”

It further explained that all ID cards maintain the “OBX” prefix, whether issued to Nigerians at home or to diaspora members. The QR code enables easy authentication through any smartphone, providing a secure means for Obidients to verify the identity of fellow members.

“This system fosters trust and ensures that when choosing to engage or collaborate with someone identifying as Obidient, verification is quick and reliable,” the statement added.

The identity cards aim to strengthen solidarity within the movement, promote transparency, and ensure a secure environment for networking and collaboration among Obidient supporters globally.
