Troops Foil Militia Attack in Plateau, Arrest Suspects After Daring Kaduna Pursuit
Troops under Operation Lafiyan Jama’a successfully repelled a militia assault on Teegbe, a community in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, neutralizing one attacker and apprehending two others after a high-stakes pursuit into Kaduna State.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The operation was disclosed via X by security expert Zagazola Makama, who stated that the military acted swiftly on a distress call received around 9 a.m. on Wednesday, alerting them to the attack on Teegbe.
Upon arriving at the scene, troops confronted the armed militia, forcing them to retreat towards Baduru Sama in Kaduna’s Kauru Local Government Area. During the ensuing pursuit, one suspect was neutralized, while a subsequent clearance mission led to the arrest of two individuals: 40-year-old Sani Adamu and 20-year-old Buhari Mohammed, both believed to be affiliated with a local bandit group.
The operation also resulted in the recovery of 42 rustled cattle and ₦20,200 from the deceased suspect.
Unfortunately, two residents of Teegbe lost their lives in the incident, while another suffered gunshot injuries and is currently receiving medical care.
A soldier, Lance Corporal Tope Awoniyi, sustained injuries during the firefight and is undergoing treatment at the 3 Division Medical Services and Hospital.
The arrested suspects and recovered items are in military custody, pending further investigation.
