Published

In a strong and direct statement, Bode George, a founding member and former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has called on former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to immediately resign from the party. George accused them of actions that he believes are detrimental to the unity and image of the PDP, claiming their ongoing interactions with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) are damaging the party’s credibility.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

George expressed his concerns about the two leaders’ public fraternization with the APC, which he sees as a contradiction to their roles within the PDP. He specifically criticized Atiku’s recent visit to former President Muhammadu Buhari in Kaduna and questioned his loyalty to the party. Additionally, George pointed out Wike’s involvement in statements made by President Bola Tinubu, which allegedly put the interest of the PDP in jeopardy, particularly regarding the upcoming FCT council elections.

Calling for immediate action, George emphasized that the time for allowing Atiku and Wike to continue undermining the PDP had passed. He expressed that internal party discipline must be restored and that these figures should either fall in line with the party’s interests or leave. George further warned that the PDP leadership must act decisively to safeguard the future of the party, especially as some governors are reportedly backing Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.

Bode George concluded by reaffirming his commitment to the PDP, stressing that it remains the only organized opposition party in Nigeria capable of challenging the APC. He also pointed out that expelling internal saboteurs would enable the party to become stronger and ready to take over power from the APC in 2027.
