Gov. Umo Eno Defends Support for Tinubu, Affirms Loyalty to PDP

Addressing a rally in Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area, Governor Eno emphasized that he values sincerity over political double-dealing. He criticized politicians who secretly support President Tinubu but publicly act otherwise, asserting that he prefers to be transparent about his support.
“I don’t know how to speak from both sides of the mouth,” Eno said. “While others make secret visits to pledge loyalty, I choose to be open about where I stand.”
Though the governor withheld specific reasons for his endorsement, he hinted that Tinubu’s developmental impact in Akwa Ibom will eventually justify his position. “What he’s doing for our state will speak volumes soon,” he added.
Eno also made it clear that his public support does not equate to abandoning his PDP affiliation. “I’m still very much a member of my party. Having an opinion doesn’t negate that,” he clarified.
He further expressed gratitude to Senate President Godswill Akpabio for his public endorsement of his own second-term ambition. Eno stated that the support from Akpabio and other key political figures affirms his confidence going into the next election cycle.
Closing his remarks on a lighter note, Eno said, “If you fall for me, I fall for you. No fight — just mutual support.”
