CP Shetima Assures Nasarawa Residents of Tight Security Ahead of Easter

This assurance was conveyed through a goodwill message issued by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Ramhan Nansel, to the Christian community in the state.
CP Shetima extended warm Easter greetings and urged Christians to mark the season with deep reverence for the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, which he described as the foundation of Easter. He emphasized that Easter symbolizes love, sacrifice, and renewed hope, encouraging all citizens to embody peace, compassion, and mutual respect throughout the festive period.
According to the statement, the Command has deployed both personnel and logistics across the state’s 13 Local Government Areas to ensure a safe and secure celebration.
Nansel explained that the deployment includes high-visibility police presence at churches, event venues, highways, parks, and other sensitive locations, backed by intelligence-led patrols and surveillance.
The Commissioner further directed all officers on duty to maintain professionalism, demonstrate civility, and respect human rights while performing their duties.
He also congratulated Christians on the successful completion of the Lenten season, describing it as a period for self-discipline, spiritual growth, and reflection.
CP Shetima encouraged residents to celebrate responsibly, stay law-abiding, and remain alert by promptly reporting any suspicious activities to the nearest security agency.
He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to collaborating with religious and traditional leaders, as well as other key stakeholders, to preserve the peace and security Nasarawa State is known for.
