Tension Grips Ondo Communities Over Unidentified Headless Corpses
Residents of Ondo State were thrown into panic following the discovery of three headless bodies floating in a river between Ore and Odigbo communities in Odigbo Local Government Area.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The disturbing incident, which occurred on Sunday, April 6, 2025, was immediately reported to local authorities. Police have confirmed the recovery of the bodies but believe the victims were not natives of the state.
Olayinka Alayande, the spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, stated that the case was reported to the Ore Police Division, which dispatched detectives to the scene. Community leaders were also invited to assist with the identification process.
“So far, no one has identified the deceased,” Alayande revealed. “Our investigation suggests the bodies were likely dumped in the river and transported to this area by the current. It appears they were brought from another location.”
The gruesome state of the corpses has raised suspicions of ritualistic killings, especially as all three victims were found without heads.
A local youth leader, identified as Shileola, expressed shock over the incident. He noted that he visited the scene to help identify the victims but found no leads. He also mentioned that there have been no reports of missing persons in the community recently, further fueling suspicions that the crime occurred elsewhere.
The case remains under investigation, as authorities urge anyone with information to contact the police.
