Eradiri Slams Fubara: Go Kneel Before Wike and Apologize
Former Ijaw Youth Council President, Udengs Eradiri, has strongly advised the suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, to reconcile with his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, by seeking his forgiveness.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Eradiri criticized Fubara’s handling of the political unrest in Rivers State, attributing the crisis to the governor’s alleged incompetence. He further urged Fubara to refrain from framing the dispute as an ethnic issue involving the Ijaw people.
Eradiri accused Fubara of failing to support the Ijaw community in meaningful ways, questioning how many Ijaw individuals have been appointed or empowered under his administration. He expressed disappointment that the governor is now seeking Ijaw solidarity despite offering them little in return.
“The governor should not drag the Ijaw into his political battles,” Eradiri said. “How has he supported Ijaw activities or empowered Ijaw youths from the Eastern Zone? Many of those now backing Fubara in public are privately seeking Wike’s favor.”
He went further to state: “Governor Fubara needs to humble himself, kneel before Wike, and ask for forgiveness. His so-called supporters don’t have the courage to do the same openly—they kneel before Wike behind closed doors while pretending to be bold in public.”
Eradiri also acknowledged President Bola Tinubu’s intervention, suggesting that the President’s move to prevent Fubara’s impeachment was a face-saving effort for both the governor and the Ijaw nation.
Reminding the public of Wike’s role in Fubara’s emergence as governor, Eradiri stated that Fubara did not even purchase nomination forms or campaign actively, and yet Wike made him governor. “It is dishonorable for him to break agreements made with his political benefactor,” he added.
Eradiri concluded by calling on Fubara to show appreciation to both Wike and President Tinubu, rather than continuing down a divisive and ungrateful path.
