Tinubu Set To Launch Projects In FCT For Second Anniversary – Wike
Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has announced that President Bola Tinubu will visit at least one of the Area Councils to inaugurate a project as part of the celebrations marking his second anniversary in office.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Wike made this announcement while addressing reporters after inspecting ongoing road projects in the Kwali, Gwagwalada, and Bwari Area Councils in Abuja on Saturday.
According to reports, during 2024, President Tinubu inaugurated several significant projects in Abuja, including the Abuja Metro Rail, the 27-kilometer Southern Parkway that connects the Christian Ecumenical Centre with Nnamdi Azikwe Express Road, and the M18 road infrastructure in Guzape District, which he named after the renowned novelist Chinua Achebe.
Wike noted that the upcoming commissioning event will provide a platform for residents to engage with the President, reinforcing his connection with the community.
“We are coordinating this event to ensure that at least he (Tinubu) can visit one of the Area Councils, allowing the people to meet their President in person. It is important that he does not solely focus on the city; he will visit a couple of Area Councils as well so that the populace can feel recognized,” he remarked.
“Areas such as Gwagwalada, Kwali, and Bwari will be prioritized. Bwari, in particular, is significant due to its Law School. We are committed to ensuring that the President engages with his constituents,” he added.
Wike further emphasized that the President is focused on promoting development not only in urban centers but also in satellite towns, which will improve residents’ access to the main city.
“This highlights the President’s commitment to satellite towns. He has instructed that while development efforts in the cities progress, we must also prioritize the growth of these municipalities,” he stated.
“On this day, we have toured three satellite towns across three Area Councils. In Gwagwalada, we are preparing to inaugurate Market Road, Palace Road, and Radio House Road. In the Kwali area, we have inspected the A2-Pai road, which is approximately 15 kilometers long, with 13 kilometers already completed with asphalt. This will be handed over on the occasion of Mr. President’s second anniversary,” he continued.
“The ongoing developments in Ushafa, Bwari Area Council, include roads leading to the War College and other communities. The contractor has assured us that these projects will be completed before the second anniversary, which is promising,” he added.
Wike expressed satisfaction with the quality of work being carried out, noting that contractors are adhering to standards and ensuring the provision of high-quality infrastructure.

Atiku Opens Up On ADC 2027 Game Plan, Says Consensus Candidate Comes First.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will first pursue a consensus arrangement before considering a primary election for its 2027 presidential ticket.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Atiku made this known during an interview on Arise Television on Wednesday while discussing the party’s leadership and strategy ahead of the next general election.
He said he is open to backing a consensus candidate if that becomes the party’s collective decision, stressing that such support should not be interpreted as stepping aside.
“It is not about stepping aside, but whether I am willing to support, and yes, I will,” Atiku said.
According to him, the ADC’s first priority is to build internal unity and reach an agreement among stakeholders before considering a competitive primary process.
“Our first option will be to work out a consensus. If that doesn’t happen, then of course we will explore other options. And yes, I will support whoever eventually emerges,” he stated.
Atiku also expressed confidence in the political experience within the party, saying he believes a consensus is achievable and may make a full-scale primary contest unnecessary.
“That remains our preferred path. We will go for primaries if consensus fails, but I honestly do not expect it to get to that stage because we are dealing with mature and experienced politicians,” he added.
His comments come amid growing political consultations and coalition talks as parties begin to position themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections.
