Senegal marks its Independence Day on April 4 each year, celebrating freedom from French colonial rule since 1960. The event, held at the Place de la Nation in Dakar, will feature parades, cultural displays, and other ceremonies, hosted by Senegalese President Faye Diomaye.

Shettima’s attendance follows an official invitation from President Diomaye, reflecting the strong diplomatic ties between Nigeria and Senegal. The Vice President joins other dignitaries from across Africa and beyond to mark the occasion.
