The Muslim leaders, representing 20 Islamic groups, including the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, made this call during a visit to Governor Fubara at his private residence in Port Harcourt on Monday as part of the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
Speaking on behalf of the Muslim Ummah, Alhaji Nasir Awhelebe Uhor assured Governor Fubara of their unwavering support, urging him to remain steadfast in his leadership, despite the ongoing political crisis. Uhor reminded the governor that, according to Islamic teachings, believers are tested through wealth, power, and authority, and these challenges should be faced with resilience.
The leaders expressed their confidence that Governor Fubara has been effectively leading the state, even in the midst of the political upheaval, and emphasized that his reinstatement would benefit the people of Rivers State.
