Maresca Provides Update on Jackson, Palmer, Madueke, and Lavia Ahead of Spurs Game

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed that key attackers Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke, and Nicolas Jackson will be available for selection in their upcoming Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur this Thursday. The Blues are currently fighting for a top-four finish to secure a place in next season’s Champions League.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Chelsea, despite an impressive 4-0 victory over Southampton, has struggled offensively, scoring only six goals in their last eight matches. This has led to three losses in their last five league games, prompting Maresca to make significant changes to his lineup. One such change was using winger Pedro Neto in an unfamiliar center-forward role due to injuries within the attacking squad.

The international break has given Chelsea a much-needed boost, allowing Maresca to reassess his squad. The manager expressed confidence that with Palmer, Madueke, and Jackson available, Chelsea’s attacking strength will improve. “Cole is back and feeling good. Noni is also in better shape, and Nico is ready as well,” Maresca said in his pre-match press conference.

However, Chelsea will face a setback with midfielder Romeo Lavia sidelined for the match. Lavia, who has been recovering from injury since joining from Southampton in 2023, sustained a new issue in training just days before the fixture. Maresca acknowledged the setback but promised to monitor Lavia’s condition closely in the coming hours.

This injury continues to hinder Lavia’s development at Chelsea, and the manager will need to adjust his plans as they prepare for the critical match against Tottenham at Stamford Bridge.

A Strong Endorsement for Donald Duke

  • Surpassing Competitors: Speaking during an interview, Baba-Ahmed confidently stated that, candidate for candidate, Donald Duke outperforms all other presidential contenders currently in the political space.

  • Integrity and Capability: He described Duke as part of a visionary leadership blueprint aimed at thinking critically, restoring national dignity, exhibiting true integrity, and offering young Nigerians a leadership style they can genuinely look up to.

The Strategic Push for an Opposition Coalition

Despite possessing what he considers the superior candidate, Baba-Ahmed explained why the party is actively championing a broader political alliance:

  • Consensus Over Ego: The PRP chairman emphasized that the party’s push for a mega-coalition is driven by consensus and constitutional processes rather than forcing Duke’s candidacy through on profile strength alone.

  • Defeating Fault Lines: Framing the 2027 election as a critical turning point for the nation, Baba-Ahmed noted that the stakes go far beyond individual party ambitions. The coalition aims to unite likeminded opposition forces to rescue Nigeria from its current trajectory and bridge its deep fault lines.
