General Musa Condemns Killing of Hunters in Edo State

In a statement issued by the Director of Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, on Saturday, General Musa expressed condolences to President Bola Tinubu and the families of the deceased. He also urged Nigerians to avoid taking the law into their own hands and to rely on constituted authorities for matters related to security.
General Musa reassured the public that the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) would work closely with the police and other security agencies to apprehend those responsible. He also emphasized that local hunters and vigilante groups must register with law enforcement agencies like the police, Department of State Services (DSS), and AFN to legally possess firearms.
The Defence Chief called for calm and urged citizens to support the military and security agencies as they carry out their duties with diligence. He reiterated that security matters should be handled by trained professionals rather than vigilante groups acting independently.
