Edo Governor Suspends Illegal Vigilante Groups, Launches Manhunt for Killers
Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has taken decisive action following the gruesome killing of northern travelers at Uromi in Esan North East Local Government Area. The governor ordered the immediate suspension of all illegal vigilante groups and also suspended CP Friday Ibadin (Rtd.), Commander of the Edo State Security Corps.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The Secretary to the Edo State Government, Musa Ikhilor, clarified that the vigilante group involved in the killings was illegal and not registered with the state security corps. The governor condemned the incident, stressing that it contradicts the values and principles of his administration.
Currently, 14 suspects have been apprehended, while the state government has launched an intense manhunt for other perpetrators. Governor Okpebholo assured the public that justice would be pursued transparently and that the government is in touch with the families of the victims and the Kano State Government, as most of the deceased were from Kano.
The Edo State Government has called for calm while investigations continue, reaffirming its commitment to upholding the constitutional rights of citizens to move freely and conduct lawful businesses across the country.
