Atiku Criticizes Government’s Economic Policies Amid Ramadan Hardships
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has expressed concern over the hardships and hunger experienced by Muslims during the 2025 Ramadan fast, attributing these difficulties to the government’s economic policies. Atiku emphasized that while Ramadan encourages charity and solidarity with the less privileged, it is equally crucial for the government to ensure that such struggles are addressed through post-Ramadan interventions that prioritize the welfare of the people.
The statement read, “This year’s Ramadan coincided with a period of severe hardship and hunger across the country. While the season encourages charity, it is essential that government actions reflect a commitment to the well-being of citizens throughout the year.”
He further appealed to political leaders to emulate the practices of Prophet Muhammad, who emphasized the importance of compassionate leadership. Atiku reminded those in power that it is insufficient to simply ask citizens to endure difficult economic conditions; leaders must also show empathy and act with integrity.
In conclusion, Atiku encouraged Muslims to continue praying for the country’s progress and to maintain the virtuous practices embraced during Ramadan, as they look toward a more prosperous future.
