Anthony Joshua Set to Enter Final Chapter of Boxing Career, Says Eddie Hearn
Promoter Eddie Hearn has revealed that Anthony Joshua is approaching the final phase of his remarkable boxing career, with plans for one to three potential bouts before retiring from heavyweight boxing. In an exclusive interview with Sky Sports, Hearn discussed Joshua’s thoughtful approach to winding down his career, with potential matchups against contenders like Daniel Dubois, Tyson Fury, or Joseph Parker being considered.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
“This is the final year,” Hearn said. “The reality is that Joshua may have one to three more fights, depending on the circumstances, but that’s part of the journey.”
Currently recovering from a minor injury after his fifth-round knockout at the hands of Dubois in September, Joshua is not yet ready to resume heavy training. Hearn noted, “He had a slight setback after the Dubois fight and isn’t quite ready to return to intense sparring yet.”
One of the most intriguing possibilities is a rematch with Joseph Parker, whom Joshua defeated by unanimous decision in 2018. Parker, now on an impressive winning streak, has triumphed over notable opponents like Martin Bakole, Zhilei Zhang, and Deontay Wilder, and is currently the WBO mandatory challenger for Oleksandr Usyk’s title. Parker’s promoter, David Higgins, has expressed enthusiasm for a potential rematch, stating, “The world would love to see Joshua vs. Parker again. Given Parker’s current form, I believe he could be a real challenge.”
Hearn also pointed to two exciting options for Joshua’s farewell bouts: a rematch with Dubois or the long-awaited clash with Tyson Fury. However, Fury’s retirement situation adds a layer of uncertainty, with his promoter, Frank Warren, confirming that the decision to fight would lie solely with Fury.
Reflecting on Joshua’s impact on British boxing, Hearn praised the fighter’s transformative role, saying, “He has changed the landscape of boxing in the UK, making stadium fights commonplace and inspiring a new generation of young boxers.”
Hearn concluded on an optimistic note, expressing confidence that Joshua still has a deep love for boxing and much left to offer. “This final phase is crucial, and we’re committed to making it a memorable one.”

Key aspects of the petition include:

Contradictory NWC Records: Petitioners assert that the NWC’s November 1, 2025, emergency meeting actually resulted in the suspension of Anyanwu and three other officers due to alleged anti-party activities, and no record exists to support the claim that Damagum was suspended or Mohammed appointed.

Legal Precedents: The lawyers referenced an October 10, 2024, Federal High Court judgment that recognizes Damagum as the acting national chairman and prohibits INEC from accepting documents without his signature. Furthermore, they noted that the Court of Appeal upheld the NWC’s suspension of Anyanwu on March 9, 2026.
-
Call for Institutional Review: The petitioners have requested that the IGP investigate how INEC processed the contested November 3 letter despite being aware of the existing court orders and the NWC’s official resolutions.
-
Stated Objective: Counsel for the petitioner emphasized that the action is intended to address the integrity of public institutions and prevent the use of misleading internal party documentation, noting their readiness to provide supporting court judgments and party records to the police.
