Gov Alia Launches E-Governance Platforms, Trains 40,000 Civil Servants

The Governor of Benue State, Hyacinth Alia, has launched four e-governance platforms aimed at digitally transforming the state’s administration. This move is part of his vision to modernize government operations and improve service delivery.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The platforms launched include:

  1. Benue State Government Electronic Document Management System (EDMS)

  2. Benue State Geographic Information System (BENGIS) Portal

  3. Benue Youth Startup and Innovation Support Portal

  4. Benue State Head of Service Website

Governor Alia also announced the training of 40,000 civil servants to enhance their digital skills and ensure they can efficiently use these new platforms. He stressed the importance of this transformation in streamlining government processes, improving transparency, and fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.

Alia highlighted that the EDMS would improve the management of government records and official correspondences, while the BENGIS portal would make land title processing faster and more transparent. The Youth Startup Portal aims to support youth entrepreneurship.

The launch event was attended by key partners, including the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI), the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), and the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), all of whom contributed to the successful rollout of the digital platforms.
