The trio is facing charges including conspiracy, causing death by negligence, and failure to provide proper security and medical facilities during a Christmas funfair in Ibadan, which tragically resulted in the deaths of 35 children.
Justice Kamorudeen Olawoyin granted bail to the three individuals, who had been remanded over the deadly stampede. The Oyo State Government filed an 18-count charge, including manslaughter, in relation to the incident.
During a hearing on January 7, the defense team argued that the accused had cooperated with investigations and posed no flight risk. They also questioned the legality of the charges under the Administration of Criminal Justice Act. The prosecution, led by Oyo State Attorney General Abiodun Aikomo, opposed the bail applications, asserting that the accused had not provided adequate justification for release.
