Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Ben Chilwell and Cesare Casadei will not be part of the squad for their FA Cup third-round tie against Morecambe this weekend. “I think Chilwell is considering a move, so it’s better to avoid risking him with an injury,” Maresca explained. “It’s similar with Casadei, who is not expected to play at this stage, as we look into potential opportunities for him elsewhere.

Chilwell, who joined Chelsea from Leicester City in 2020, has made 107 appearances for the Blues, but he has seen limited playing time this season and is expected to depart in search of more game time. Meanwhile, Casadei, who has been linked with moves to Feyenoord and Monza, is hoping for a loan move to secure more first-team action.
