Former Dunamis Pastor Speaks Out: Miracles Are Illusions Created By Atmosphere

In an interview with Kaa Truths, as reported by SaharaReporters, Daniel detailed his reasons for leaving the church, expressing frustration over what he called a flawed approach to “healing and deliverance.
Daniel alleged that after each healing service, the number of people seeking healing often exceeded those who initially attended for it. He likened the chaotic atmosphere of the services to a panicked crowd reacting to a dangerous situation, describing the desperation among attendees.
He remarked, “When people see the crowd, they do the unthinkable. It’s like hearing there’s a lion nearby; even a crippled might jump the fence.”
According to him, the high-energy environment during services often gives the illusion of miracles. He stated:
“When you’re on the stage, it’s different from reality. The charged atmosphere, disco lights, and emotional music can create an ‘environmental influence,’ making people feel temporary relief that doesn’t last.”
Daniel also shared the challenges pastors face after such services, explaining that many attendees remain frustrated and demand to see the senior pastor. He described these experiences as disheartening and a key reason for his departure from the church.
He added, “The miracles are not real; they don’t happen. After the service, we as pastors are left to deal with the aftermath. People are frustrated, and you can see the pain in their faces.”
The allegations follow Daniel’s recent detention alongside Pastor Paul Enenche’s brother, Alex Enenche, by the Nigerian police’s Force Intelligence Department (FID) on charges of cyberbullying and defamation. Both were released on bail on January 8, 2025, after agreeing to resolve the matter amicably.
Their legal representative, Barrister Ernest Okpaga, revealed that despite their cooperation, the pair endured hours of waiting before their statements were taken. They have been instructed to report back to the FID on January 10 and 13, respectively.
