Edo State Governor Emphasizes Need For Unified Effort To Drive State Development
Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has emphasized the need for stronger cooperation among the Executive, Legislature, and Judiciary to propel the state’s development. The governor expressed his belief that the three arms of government must work together effectively to implement the state’s development agenda. He acknowledged the Legislature’s support in passing the Appropriation Bill and encouraged the Judiciary to also collaborate in delivering justice and fostering progress.
“I need synergy between the three arms of government—the Executive, Legislature, and Judiciary. The Legislature has been very cooperative, especially regarding the Appropriation Bill. I urge the Judiciary to follow suit,” Okpebholo remarked. He also reiterated the administration’s focus on strengthening Edo’s educational system and supporting the Judiciary in fulfilling its role.
Governor Okpebholo praised the Chief Judge and the Judiciary for their commitment to justice, expressing confidence that the cooperation between the three arms would lead to effective governance. “Inclusiveness in governance is key. I urge you to support the administration so we can succeed collectively in advancing Edo State,” he added.

The Allegation: The survivor, Malam Babawo Tudun Nasera—whose 17-year-old brother Salim was among the deceased—stated in a video that authorities wanted the miners to halt operations, but they continued working based on instructions allegedly given by Babangida.
