Real Madrid pulled off a remarkable late comeback, scoring twice in the final 10 minutes to clinch a 2-1 win over Valencia in their rescheduled La Liga Matchday 12 fixture on Friday night.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The win, which was originally set for November 2024 but postponed due to severe flooding, set the stage for a dramatic clash at Mestalla, where Luka Modrić and Jude Bellingham emerged as the heroes.

Valencia took the lead in the 27th minute through Hugo Duro, who capitalized on a loose ball in the box to beat Madrid’s goalkeeper Andriy Lunin. Despite struggling in the first half, Madrid faced further setbacks when Vinícius Júnior was shown a controversial red card in the 79th minute after an exchange with Valencia goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski.

However, Real Madrid mounted a classic late rally. Modrić equalized in the 85th minute with a powerful strike from outside the box. As the match headed into stoppage time, Bellingham netted a dramatic winner in the 95th minute, heading in a cross to secure the three points.

After the match, Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti acknowledged his team’s poor first-half performance but praised their resilience in the second half, especially with ten men. He added, “It’s a deserved victory. We can’t afford to repeat the first-half performance, but I’m happy with the second-half response.”

On the red card incident, Ancelotti disagreed with the referee’s decision and confirmed the club would appeal. He felt a pair of yellow cards for both players involved would have been more appropriate.

Bellingham, who missed a penalty earlier in the match, was lauded for his effort in bouncing back to score the crucial goal. Ancelotti stated, “He had a great game, and the goal was a reward for his hard work.”

With the win, Real Madrid extended their lead at the top of La Liga with 43 points, two ahead of Atlético Madrid. As the title race heats up, Madrid’s resilience continues to shine through in crucial moments.

Makinde made the declaration on Thursday during the APM South-West town hall meeting in Akure, the Ondo State capital.

He expressed confidence that the party would secure a sweeping victory in the 2027 polls, describing its agenda as a plan to reset the country.

Makinde made the prediction after Mohammed was introduced at the gathering and described as an incoming senator.

Speaking at the event, the APM presidential candidate said, “Well, APM is going to win this election overwhelmingly because this is the reset agenda being put before Nigerians, so I dare to say that my national leader is the incoming Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

He urged Nigerians to listen to the party’s message and support its proposed agenda ahead of the 2027 elections.

Makinde also discussed the qualities he believes Nigerians should consider when choosing their next president, arguing that physical energy and the ability to tackle national challenges should take precedence over age.

According to him, the next president must possess the stamina to work long hours and respond effectively to the country’s pressing problems.

He stated, “While I will not make age an issue in this campaign, I will make energy, having energy, being able to stay up late to deal with the challenges we face as a country.”

Makinde further challenged presidential candidates to demonstrate their physical fitness, urging voters to consider their capacity to handle the demands of the presidency.

“So please, when they bring their presidential candidates, let the candidates be able to jump, and if they can do that, vote for them,” he added.
