The police responded swiftly after receiving a report from a local resident, Asabe James, who had spotted a suspicious sack containing unidentified items behind her house. The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team cordoned off the area and recovered the projectiles.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the ordnance had been dropped by unknown individuals earlier that morning. In light of the discovery, the police emphasized the importance of safety and offered tips on handling such situations, including remaining calm, maintaining a safe distance, and reporting any suspicious items to authorities.

The Borno State Commissioner of Police, CP Yusufu Mohammed Lawal, reiterated the commitment to ensuring public safety and urged residents to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police.
