In an interview with Arise TV, Fasua highlighted that the current exchange rate has also reduced the frequency of travel among Nigerians, especially the middle class, who once traveled abroad regularly. He argued that this shift has forced Nigerians to focus more on domestic opportunities.
Fasua also discussed the high number of Nigerian students in the United States and the United Kingdom, stressing that while the country’s education system may have its flaws, the surge in student numbers reflects aspiration rather than failure. He criticized the unrealistic expectations of some Nigerians who hoped the country would rapidly mirror the developed economies of the West, which have had centuries of development.
The President’s adviser concluded by stating that Nigeria offers ample opportunities for those who are willing to work, encouraging Nigerians to take advantage of the available opportunities.

The Allegation: The survivor, Malam Babawo Tudun Nasera—whose 17-year-old brother Salim was among the deceased—stated in a video that authorities wanted the miners to halt operations, but they continued working based on instructions allegedly given by Babangida.
