Lawal Plenwavering Fight Against Banditry Despite Setbacks And Sabotage
The Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal, has reaffirmed his determination to combat banditry in the state, despite efforts by vested interests to derail his initiatives. Lawal stated that this new strategy is intended to hinder military and security forces from reaching the bandits’ hideouts. He emphasized that the state government remains focused on addressing the security challenges and overcoming the obstacles created by those trying to undermine the fight against banditry.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Malam Abubakar Mohammad Nakwada, the Governor made these remarks during the Northwest Zonal Conference of State Directors of Security (SDSes) for the fourth quarter of 2024, held in Gusau. He assured that the state government is working closely with security agencies and other stakeholders to address the growing security concerns.
The Governor also highlighted the need for discussions regarding the activities of the Lukurawa group, urging the conference to prioritize the emerging threats posed by their actions in the region.
