In the petition, signed by Ola Faro, a partner at the firm, Farotimi is accused of making unfounded allegations of corruption against top Nigerian judges and lawyers, including members of Afe Babalola’s chambers, as detailed in his book, Nigeria and its Criminal Justice System. The law firm claims Farotimi’s actions brought disrepute to the legal profession and undermined the integrity of the Nigerian judiciary.

The petition further alleges that Farotimi engaged in illegal activities, including bribing judicial officers, distorting facts, and obstructing justice. His conduct, the petitioners argue, violated several rules of professional ethics, including fairness, respect for the court, and the proper conduct expected of legal practitioners. The law firm insists that these actions should be addressed to preserve the dignity of the legal profession and the judiciary.
