Governor Dauda Lawal served as the guardian for the grooms, while Alhaji Attahiru Ahmad, the Emir of Zamfara, took on the role of the father and guardian for the brides.

Before the wedding prayers began, Governor Lawal sought the Emir’s permission, in accordance with Islamic law.

The Governor expressed that the weddings were part of his administration’s broader efforts to provide support and ensure the well-being of the people.

Governor Lawal covered the dowry of N100,000 for each bride, in addition to N50,000 for other wedding expenses. The State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Jamilu Jibo, also contributed N20,000 for each bride.

In his speech, the Commander of the Hisbah Commission emphasized the importance of marital harmony. He also shared that medical tests had been conducted on all participants to ensure they were disease-free prior to the ceremony.

The Hisbah Commission boss reminded the newlywed couples that no husband should make harmful decisions for the marriage without consulting the Hisbah Commission. He outlined a structured process for resolving marital disputes, beginning at the district head level and escalating to the Hisbah headquarters.

“This approach aims to reduce divorce rates and foster stable marriages,” he said.

The event was attended by notable figures, including the Emirs of Anka, Gusau, and Dansadau, as well as high-ranking government officials like Abubakar Na Kwada, the Secretary to the State Government, and Muktar Lugga, the Chief of Staff at the Government House.

The state government also provided essential household items, such as beds, wardrobes, and kitchenware.
