PDP’s Bode George Asks Tinubu To Reduce Fuel Prices As A Christmas Gift For Nigerians

Recall that following his inauguration in 2023, Tinubu announced the removal of fuel subsidies, leading to a significant increase in fuel prices—from ₦198 to ₦560 per litre, and now soaring to ₦1,100 to ₦1,200 per litre.
In a conversation with journalists on Wednesday, Bode George called on the President to implement the reduction, so Nigerians can enjoy a more festive and affordable holiday season. He suggested that Tinubu could calculate the financial implications of the price cut and appeal to well-meaning Nigerians for contributions. George also proposed that First Lady Oluremi Tinubu could play a role by contributing to the fund, citing her previous N1 billion donation to a university.
He concluded by saying, “This action would bring joy to every home this Christmas and New Year. I believe he can do it.”
Nigeria’s Minister of Regional Development, Engr. And if I had to do it all over again, I would choose Nigeria every single time.”
She concluded her farewell message with deep appreciation, stating that she steps away from international duty carrying 86 total appearances, zero regrets, and boundless gratitude for her teammates, fans, and the nation.
Joining the global wave of recognition, CAF honored her monumental impact on African women’s football via social media, writing:
