Governor Otu Directs Commissioners To Submit Achievement Reports Within A Week

The Governor of Cross River State, Otu, has instructed all commissioners to provide detailed reports of their achievements since taking office. In a statement released on Friday morning, Governor Otu emphasized that this directive is intended to enable a comprehensive evaluation of the administration’s overall performance.

He stated that ensuring accountability and results-driven governance are the main priorities of his administration. “I have mandated all commissioners to submit a detailed report on the achievements and progress of their respective Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government within one week. This initiative is designed to facilitate a thorough appraisal of our collective performance and ensure that we stay aligned with the promises and mandates given to us by the people,” he noted on his X account.

In related news, during a recent executive council meeting, Governor Otu approved the renaming of the Secondary Education Board to the Senior Secondary Education Board (SSEB). This change aims to align with national standards and attract funding.

It’s important to remember that in September, Otu canceled the recruitment exercise conducted by the Secondary Education Board due to alleged bias in the process. He also reaffirmed his commitment to worker welfare, including the implementation of a ₦70,000 minimum wage.

“We have renamed the Secondary Education Board to the Senior Secondary Education Board (SSEB) to align with national standards and enhance funding opportunities. Furthermore, I reiterated our dedication to workers’ welfare, specifically regarding the ₦70,000 minimum wage, and outlined plans for distributing rice across all 196 wards to support our citizens during the festive season,” Governor Otu concluded.
