PDP Leaders Considering Merger With APC Rivals, Ugochinyere Alleges

Ugochinyere made this statement during a speech in his hometown on Saturday, where he also accused certain PDP members of collaborating with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to undermine the opposition party.
The lawmaker expressed concerns over internal divisions and betrayals within the PDP, warning that those attempting to weaken the party ahead of 2027 could harm its chances of replacing the APC. He emphasized that a strong merger was being planned to challenge the ruling party and bring an end to what he called the “untold hardship” caused by the current leadership.
He further criticized certain party members for engaging in what he described as “childish” politics, urging them to stop playing with the party’s future. Ugochinyere called on PDP stakeholders to safeguard the party’s integrity and reminded them that the PDP remains Africa’s largest political party, with a vital role to play as the main opposition.
Addressing his constituents, Ugochinyere reassured them that he would honor all campaign promises, including the provision of water, scholarships, empowerment initiatives, and infrastructure improvements.

And if I had to do it all over again, I would choose Nigeria every single time.”
She concluded her farewell message with deep appreciation, stating that she steps away from international duty carrying 86 total appearances, zero regrets, and boundless gratitude for her teammates, fans, and the nation.
