Adeyanju Reveals How Rivers’ IGR Split Between Wike And Fubara Sparked Tension
Activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju has revealed that the rift between Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara, is linked to the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR). Speaking on the The Honest Bunch podcast by Glitch Africa Studio, Adeyanju also criticized the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), calling it a political party and accusing it of being aligned with the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He remarked, “If you give INEC water, they will turn it into wine; there is nothing INEC can’t do. What INEC can’t do does not exist. The current INEC is APC.”
Adeyanju added, “Wike is fighting Fubara because about a year ago, Wike was declaring N11 billion in IGR, and now Fubara is declaring N27 billion. How can there not be a fight?”

“After 16 years of wearing the Nigeria jersey, representing my country and giving everything I had for this beautiful sport, I have made the very difficult decision to retire from international football… I gave this jersey my youth, my strength, my sweat, my tears, and my heart. And if I had to do it all over again, I would choose Nigeria every single time.”
She concluded her farewell message with deep appreciation, stating that she steps away from international duty carrying 86 total appearances, zero regrets, and boundless gratitude for her teammates, fans, and the nation.
Joining the global wave of recognition, CAF honored her monumental impact on African women’s football via social media, writing:
