He recalled a time when he was doing a “question-and-answer” session on Twitter and jokingly responded to a fan’s question about Wizkid, saying, “My brother Wiz doesn’t have my time anymore.” This remark led to a series of insults from Wizkid, who attacked him, his family, and even accused him of wearing fake jewelry.

According to details from an inquest at the Inner West London Coroner’s Court cited by TMZ, Ego died in March 2026 after undergoing the procedure while on a luxury vacation in Bangkok with his wife, Danielle Simba Allen. The operation involved injecting 40 milliliters of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine into his penis at an unnamed clinic.
While staying at a Bangkok Marriott hotel following the procedure, Ego complained of chest pain and passed out twice before being rushed to Sukhumvit Hospital. Although his wife informed medical personnel about the filler injections, he lost consciousness before a recommended CT scan could take place. Doctors determined he had suffered a pulmonary embolism—a dangerous blockage in a blood vessel in the lungs—and transferred him to intensive care. Despite medics performing CPR for over 100 minutes, he passed away in the early hours of March 6.
A subsequent postmortem examination conducted in the UK confirmed the presence of cellular material matching the hyaluronic acid in his lungs, leading Coroner Jean Harkin to officially rule that the cosmetic procedure directly caused the fatal pulmonary embolism.
Friends and associates paid glowing tributes at his funeral in London. Davido described the loss as heavy and unreal, while socialite Cubana Chief Priest shared video tributes celebrating the lavish life of the deceased, writing on social media, “Rest Easy Brother @ego2222.
