Osun APC Slams Adeleke’s Administration For Poor Performance in Key Sectors

Published

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s recent praise of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s performance.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

At a press briefing in Osogbo on Thursday, Kola Olabisi, APC’s Director of Media and Publicity, accused Adeleke’s administration of engaging in excessive spending beyond the state budget.

Responding to Obasanjo’s praise for Adeleke’s achievements during the inauguration of the Old Garage-Oke Fia-Lameco Osogbo dual carriageway, Olabisi expressed doubt, stating, “Obasanjo once declared that the Port Harcourt refinery wouldn’t work, but it’s now operational. Whatever he said about Adeleke’s performance, he likely meant the opposite.”

The APC further criticized the Adeleke administration for underperforming in critical sectors like education, agriculture, health, and fiscal management.

Olabisi highlighted the state’s struggles in education, particularly the dismissal of 1,500 teachers hired by the previous administration without replacement. He also condemned high fees at public schools, including a Physics teacher shortage in Atakumosa East.

In agriculture and healthcare, the APC claimed that Adeleke’s government failed to address pressing needs, instead focusing funds on cosmetic upgrades to health facilities that had already been renovated under the former Oyetola government.

Olabisi also pointed to steep tuition fees at the new University of Ilesa, where law students are charged N1.5 million per year, compared to much lower fees at Osun State University. He questioned why such high fees were charged if the government was genuinely funding the institution.

According to the source, the twins maintained a daily routine of speaking around midnight, but the conversation took a sudden turn that night when unusual activity was noticed at the General’s end.

He said the line went dead abruptly after the General paused during the call, apparently due to the unfolding situation at the base.

The twin brother reportedly made repeated attempts to reconnect, sending messages and calling continuously, but received no response throughout the night.

“He kept trying until about 4 am, but there was no answer,” the source said.

The family later confirmed the tragedy after a senior military officer contacted them around 6:30 am, informing them that the base had come under attack and that the Brigade Commander was among those killed.

The relative described the incident as devastating, noting that communication had broken down during the assault.

The late General was later buried alongside other fallen soldiers in Maiduguri, Borno State.

He wrote, “Chiemeka Chibuzor’s wedding is hereby suspended. More than a thousand applications. No more wedding pending further directive from me.”

The cleric had earlier this week publicly invited proposals for her marriage, setting conditions that included the suitor being young and in good physical and mental health, alongside promised financial support and housing benefits.

He also said the couple would enjoy lifelong support, including shared property ownership and periodic welfare checks from church members.

The development follows a similar arrangement recently conducted by the church involving a non-verbal autistic man who was married in a ceremony organised by the ministry.
