Barbaric Act: Delta Teen Locked In Dog Cage For Allegedly Visiting Girl
A shocking incident unfolded in Asaba, Delta State, where a 17-year-old boy, Samuel Onyeme, was reportedly assaulted and confined in a dog cage by the family of a female classmate, Anastasia Celestine, whom he visited last weekend.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Samuel’s mother, Mrs. Onyeme, recounted the harrowing experience, stating that her son was attacked by Anastasia’s father and brothers after arriving at their residence around 6:00 PM. They allegedly beat him with wooden planks, dragged him into their compound, and locked him in the cage.
The attackers also seized Samuel’s phone and deceived his mother into coming to the scene, only to prevent her from seeing him for two hours. Samuel’s sister, Jessica, was also reportedly assaulted when she tried to intervene.
The boy was eventually rescued around 10:00 PM after a family friend contacted a human rights organization, which mobilized police officers to the scene.
Victor Ojei, a human rights advocate who facilitated the rescue, condemned the incident as barbaric and called for immediate prosecution of the perpetrators. A petition has been sent to the Delta State Police Commissioner and other authorities, urging legal action against Mr. Celestine and his sons for alleged kidnapping, assault, unlawful detention, and attempted murder.
The victim is currently receiving treatment for his injuries and psychological trauma at the Asaba Specialist Hospital. Meanwhile, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, has yet to confirm receiving a report on the incident.
