Abdullahi Vows Kano Victory For APC In 2027 Elections

The Northern Youths Movement (NYM) has criticized former Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido, following his recent remarks on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Lamido had recently referred to Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, as a “small boy in PDP history,” questioning Wike’s involvement with the party dating back to 1999.

In a statement signed by NYM Chairman Mallam Ishaya Jato, the group reminded Lamido that those he now calls “small boys” were instrumental in keeping the PDP afloat after the 2014 rebellion—a movement Lamido initially supported before distancing himself.

The NYM noted the irony that those once seen as children within the party had grown to mentor others politically, while some of the party’s original elders continued to stir controversy.

They criticized Lamido for backing his son as a governorship candidate in Jigawa, suggesting that his influence hasn’t led to broader party representation. They questioned whether Lamido, who became a PDP elder at 50, now sees himself as an “ancestral elder.”

The group also accused Lamido of consistently disparaging prominent PDP figures, including former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, as well as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

The statement recalled instances where Lamido referred to Obasanjo as “an unknown prisoner when PDP was formed,” and called Atiku his junior in politics, noting Lamido’s criticisms of President Jonathan’s administration while still a sitting governor.

The NYM alleged that Lamido misled Atiku into believing he was “President-in-Waiting” for the 2023 election, contributing to the PDP’s leadership crisis after its electoral defeat. They asserted that Lamido’s frustrations were now directed at Wike, who, alongside governors Seyi Makinde, Samuel Ortom, Okezie Ikpeazu, and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, refused to be marginalized within the party.

DAILY POST notes that the PDP continues to face challenges since its loss in the 2023 presidential election, with leadership issues still unresolved.

Oloyede said many of the issues recorded during the mock exercise were due to poor assessment of centres by some technical officials.

He further stated that incentive packages would be awarded to teams that perform exceptionally, particularly in handling exam materials and submitting timely reports.

Reiterating JAMB’s zero-tolerance stance on malpractice, he warned candidates against bringing prohibited items into examination halls.
