In the interview, Doris shared the pain of losing a motherly role in her son’s life, recounting how the last time she cared for him, he was just 3 years old.

“I know I had my faults, and he had his too,” she said. “That’s why I didn’t feel anything when he remarried. The painful part is that he didn’t let me mother my child. He took my son to the US without my consent when he was only 4. My last memory of mothering him was when he was 3.”

Speaking to The Independent, Usyk praised Joshua’s commitment in camp, describing him as highly focused and determined.

He also called for continued support for Joshua during a difficult phase in his career, urging fans not to turn against fighters during setbacks, but to stand by them as part of the sport.

Usyk acknowledged that Joshua is nearing a full return but stressed the need for patience as he continues recovery.
